A Devil of a Time Remastering Work

Those desperately awaiting A Devil of a Time — here is a quick update!

Work continues at a slow but steady pace considering it’s an “off the side of the desk” job. Currently we have locked in a final running order for the show - you’ll get a two hour and fifteen minute main presentation structured like a proper show, complete with opening, closing and interval. We’ve managed to cut this down to the best bits of every archival show we have from 1985 (plus a few audio-only bits pre-dating that) including many of the quintessential Revue classics and personalities.

Part of this effort is remastering, as the quality of some of our material is very poor (thanks a lot, technology! shakes fist) The image above shows a very preliminary look at the basic improvements we’re going for. We’re hoping to avoid that horrible AI look that a lot of upscaled material can have, so we are taking care and time to get it as right as we can.

We are grateful for everyone’s patience with this. It was assumed we’d simply knock it over in 2023 in a few weeks so obviously it has dragged on but the depth of material it has allowed us to capture we hope is worth it. The benefit to Old Nick’s archive from this project has been enormous.
