Doom (Old English) — usual term for a law or judgment
In 1086 William the Conquerer commissioned what was known as “The Domesday Book” (“doomsday” in ye olde timey language) — a survey of England and part of Wales which was a formidable feat of information gathering in its day.
Sometime between 1948 and the late eighties, a plucky group of theatre students, hot off the thrill of naming their UTAS society after the Old Vic who toured with Olivier in 1947, decided to wittily call their annual newsletter The Doomsday Book: Old Nick’s Practical Guide to Self-Destruction.
In the mid 2020s The Old Nick Company, Inc. created The Doomsday Guide: the single best source of truth for the Uni Revue production cast and crew. If you are looking for a policy, for a form, for a script, for information about a theatre; it will all be here. This is the first and last word of Old Nick himself. Grab your pitchforks and old timey gold prospector jumpsuits and dive in.
Welcome to our practical guide to self-destruction. Enjoy the ride!
